Mini’s:

Our minis were due to travel to Kenmare for a blitz, which was postponed due to unplayable pitches. Training took place as normal with the hardy boys giving it their all in the freezing wind. Well done lads. Training continues next Saturday. All welcome.

U14’s:

Killarney 7 Tralee 43 – Killarney were hoping to bounce on from last week’s good win but faced a tough challenge against a very strong Tralee. All the damage was done in the first half. Killarney came back into the game with a fine try scored by Sean Murphy, following a great forward drive led by the outstanding Craig McKensie. Conor Sheahan duly slotted home the conversion. The forwards scrummaged well and rucked hard, however Tralee proved too strong.

U16’s:

Killarney RFC 24 Garryowen 19 – Last Saturday, In tough conditions with a prevailing strong wind, Killarney/ Castleisland took on Garryowen at Direen.  An outstanding  display by the home side made it 24-5 at half time. Tries were scored by Joe McAuliffe, Jack Scanlon and Dylan McCarthy in the forwards, with one in the backs by David Leen, for the home side. A great fightback by Garryowen in the second half but Killarney/Castleisland held out for the win.

U18’s:

The game against Cobh was postponed. Ballincollig are up next for South Kerry, at home, next Saturday at 11am. All support welcome!

Senior XV:

Munster Junior Cup – Killarney 32 Richmond 5 – Killarney took on Richmond yesterday in soft conditions and put up a great display of rugby. Alan Mulligan was the first player over the line for us with a great forward driven try. Another was added by Amby O’Donovan before the break. Some great defensive work repeatedly kept Richmond out however, Richmond managed a well worked try to leave the score at 10-5 at half time. The home side powered on with tries from Chris Myers, Colin McCarthy, Conor O’Leary and Paul O’Sullivan. It was a tough day for both kickers with only one conversion slotting home. A great display by the home team which will give the lads a lift and prepare them for next week’s vital match against Ballincollig. Kick off next Sunday at 2:30pm. All support is very welcome. Let’s get behind the boys in this vital match!

A stunning photo taken by budding photographer Jay Tydings showing the lads in a huddle following yesterdays win over Richmond in the Junior Cup at the weekend. Jay is the son of ref Shane Tydings and Christina Houlihan Tydings so was always going to have an eye for a great photo! Very well done Jay!!
