Minis visit to Thomond Park

Killarney RFC News Update:

Senior XV:
Our Senior XV took on the visiting Youghal RFC in the Munster Junior League last Sunday, at Aghadoe under terrible conditions. Despite the home advantage and some good pressure from our lads, Youghal ran out winners on a scoreline of 23-5. While our lads piled plenty of pressure and threatened the line on a few occasions, the sole try came from a great drive, allowing Paul O’Sullivan to cross the line. The lads travel the short distance to Ballymalis next Sunday to take on Killorglin in the league. Kick off is at 2pm. Let’s get out and support the lads!

U12’s trip to Thomond Park:
A full bus of 40 children and 10 adults travelled to Thomond Park last Saturday morning to watch Munster take on Stade Francais in the Champions Cup. Given Munsters recent poor run and the fact that Munster are out of the Cup, we were hoping for a good match as Munster redeemed themselves given last weeks very poor performance in Paris. We were not disappointed as we watched Munster claim a bonus point victory over a very strong opposition. Arriving at Thomond Park in time to welcome the Munster bus, the kids made their presence felt and welcomed the ads with vigour. This was acknowledged by the Supporters club the following day, in a message declaring that we should be very proud of our charges! A great game ensued and the kids had a ball. We stopped for food on the way down and everyone had a great day at Thomond. Thanks to Mini Coordinator Liam Murphy for organising this trip and to the parents and coaches who travelled to mind the kids. Well done all! Minis training continues next Saturday.
