Very well done to Ger Moynihan and his charges who backed up last weekend’s Munster Junior League promotion win over neighbours Killorglin RFC with another massive win last weekend, winning the much coveted Martin O’Sullivan Cup. This was always one Cup that eluded us and the lads had to cross the border into County Cork to Old Christian’s ground at Rathcooney for the final. Tipperary side Fethard and District were the opposition on the day and the home side were first on the board with a penalty within the first 15 minutes.
Killarney Lineout was superb
Second Row Alan Mulligan crossed the whitewash for his now trademark try, which was converted by outhalf Paudie Sheahan Almost immediately Fethard scored a try of their own and Paudie Sheahan who was on fire from the boot added another penalty to leave the game 10-8 to the Kerry side at half time.

Paudie added two more penalties in the second half before returning Timmy Dudley scored a try. Timmy who was home for the weekend pulled in a ringer as we were missing 6 players from the previous weekend.
Timmy Dudley is in for Killarney’s second try
Fethard scored a late try and Paudie Sheahan who was sublime from the boot added more to leave the score 15-26 with the Martin O’Sullivan Cup coming to Killarney.
Paudie Sheahan on the hunt with the ball
All players really stood out on the day however you could rely on Paudie Sheahan every time he stepped up to take a kick and put in an epic display. David Corlett also really stood out on the day with his first start proper. Well done lads. Next weekend the lads take on Tralee RFC in the Galwey/Foley Cup final in Castleisland. Best of luck lads.
