Killarney RFC seniors won the promotion battle with the narrowest of margins in a cracking match against Killorglin. The match took place in Ballymalis, Listry and the visitors had a short trip to make but a huge challenge lay ahead for Ger Moyhihan’s charges.
Ger crossed the whitewash for Killarney’s only try of the day with the rest of the points coming off the boot of Paudie Sheahan who played a blinder of a match.
Killorglin managed to cross the line for a try at the dying stages of the match to rattle our nerves, however the lads held on for a famous 15 – 16 win and promotion the prize.
Well done to Ger and the lads. Division 2 beckons next season. Next week the lads will travel to Ballincollig to take on Fethard in the rescheduled Martin O’Sullivan Cup Final. Let’s get out and support the lads on their quest for glory!!
Best of luck to our U18 boys who take on Rugbai Chorca Dhuibhne in the U18 West Munster Cup final this Sunday. Kick off at O’Dowd Park (Tralee RFC) is at 2:30pm and all support very welcome. Good luck to all players, coaches and team management.
