Family Day – a huge success for KRFC:

Clubs are all about people. That was more than evident at Killarney Rugby’s Family Fun day on Saturday when members from across all sections of the club came together to celebrate rugby and the players of all ages who stood out during the season. The award winners ranged in age from 6 to 49 and came from as far away as Rathmore and Kenmare. This was in fact the club’s first-ever combined awards ceremony but its moving nature meant that even before it was over the decision had been made to make it an annual event!

On the field, spectators were treated to some fantastic rugby. The day started with exhibitions from the minis boys and girls on the main pitch, which was followed by a first-ever 7s game at the club by next season’s U18.5 youths.

The highlight of the day would have been the intense high-scoring feast served up at the Captain’s XV vs. President’s had it not been followed by the club’s first-ever ladies rugby. A 6-a-side tag game run to promote the upcoming ladies summer programme, it stood out for some sublime handling and evasion skills and unusual level of physicality for a game of tag. Hopefully, this is a sign of the great things that are to come.

A massive shout-out to everyone who helped plan and run the event which was without a doubt a testament to the hard work being done in the club and a huge success for all involved. Check out the images below from the day.
