St. Patrick’s Day Parade:

Last Friday our minis took part in the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Killarney and had a fantastic time. Even though the weather was pretty poor on the day, we had a fantastic turnouton day. Well done to everyone who marched with us and a huge thanks to Ian Harrington and the organising crew for all the hard work put in for the big day. Well done to the parade organisers for their hard work, which showed on the day as the streets were absolutely full and there was a fantastic festival feel around the town.

Minis:

Our Minis are due to travel to Killorglin tomorrow (Saturday, March 25th) for the final round of the West Munster Blitz, taking on Listowel, Castleisland and Killorglin. We are hoping to meet at the pitch at Ballymalis from 10:20am and parking is limited so be there early. Any queries, contact minis coordinator Liam Murphy on 087-4145662.

Seniors:

Our Seniors travelled to Moneygourney in Cork to take on Douglas/Carrigaline in the postponed Munster Junior League – division 3 play off. The visitors won out on a scoreline of 7 points to 21 points with Brian Lynch putting in a man of the match display and scoring a try on the day, following the award of a penalty try early in the match.

The in form Paudie Sheahan converted the tries as well as scoring 3 penalties. The match itself was not without incident as the game was delayed for over 30 minutes while a Douglas/Carrigaline player received attention for a serious leg injury. We would like to wish him a speedy recovery.

As this was the first round, we face Dungarvan in the second round of the play offs at Aghadoe next Sunday at 2:30pm. So, let’s get out and support the lads as they push on for promotion to Division 2.

Congrats Dr. Crokes:

We would like to congratulate Killarney’s very own Dr. Crokes on their All-Ireland success last weekend. Well done to Pat O’Shea and all the team on the fantastic win and for bringing the Andy Merrigan trophy to Killarney. There was a lot of Killarney RFC members at Croker to cheer on the lads and I’m sure they enjoyed the Ireland/England match as well. Well done lads!
