Aghadoe Update:

As you are all aware by now, we are panning our big move to our new home up in Aghadoe, by September. After a few years of serious fundraising and trojan work at the site, the breaking news is that 3 sets of Goal pasts are now in place.

Under the stewardship of Project Manager and club captain Ger Moynihan, the ‘meitheal’ worked tirelessly to get the pitches seeded, cut and to the shape they are in today. Last week foundations were poured for the goalposts on the various pitches. Yesterday, the posts went up on the three main pitches!

This is still a work in progress but things are progressing along at a great pace and very exciting times are ahead for Killarney RFC and all it’s players, parents and coaches. These are very exciting times for Killarney RFC. If you are passing the site in Aghadoe, take a look. We are hoping to have a family open day in September. Keep posted to our Facebook page for further updates.

Trim Trail:

The team have laid a 1 km track surrounding the pitches. A ‘Trim Trail’ will be put in place along the perimeter track. The path will allow people to take walks around the pitches while waiting on their kids at mini training for example and also to utilise the exercise equipment along the track. This will be a very welcome addition to the site and it will be very exciting to see this up and running.

Below are some photos of the Posts going up. Pics courtesy of Ger Moynihan.
