Last Saturday our Minis had a very surprise visitor to training at Aghadoe – Munster Rugby’s United Rugby Championship trophy! The kids were abolutely thrilled with the VIP visitor and were thrilled to take photos and try and lift the trophy, which weighs in at a whopping 20kg!
Mini Coordinator Dave Hickey commented: “It was absolutely fantastic to have the URC trophy at our minis training session last Saturday morning. It was great to see all the smiles on the faces as our future stars posed with the much coveted trophy”.
The trophy had a busy schedule over the weekend and was guest of honour at out U18’s friendly on Sunday as well as at our Senior match. We also visited Scott’s Hotel, as well as some of our sponsors with the trophy and visited local schools including Firies N.S., Faha N.S., Ballycasheen N.S., Killarney Community College and more. Thanks to Liam and Ger for getting the trophy out and about as much as possible.

This years Girls only ‘Give It A Try’ programme kicks off on this evening the 23rd of April next at Aghadoe, running for 8 weeks. Aimed at introducing girls aged between 8 and 14 years of age to rugby, fun is guaranteed during this fantastic 8 week programme devised by the IRFU.
