U16 Girls in epic cup round 2 win:

Killarney/Iveragh /Listowel U16 girls were away to Ennis RFC in the 2nd round of the Munster cup, sunshine followed a very wet and windy warm up. K/I/L dominated the first 20 mins with great phases and rucking and got over for the first try, quickly followed by another to see us up 10. Ennis quickly responded with 2 tries from their no12 who was a massive threat all day. Half time score 17 to Ennis 10 K/I/L.

Two quick tries in the 2nd half had Ennis at 22 but K/I/L doubled down and scored to get back in the game 15 to 22. K/I/L back lines started to move the ball quickly and a fantastic run from K/I/L no 8 and  followed by conversion had the game tied at 22/22. A fantastic back line move had us up another try but with only mins left Ennis ran in another try and conversion.

Ennis now 2 points ahead, our girls rallied and put phase after phase together, fitness levels played a huge part. Ennis  on the 8 yard line gave away a penalty for offside. Up stepped Eliza, captain, for a nail biting kick and slotted it between the posts for the last play of the game  to seal our win.

Every single player in the team were responsible for this epic win but but have to give a shout out to Isabelle, Keelin, Muireann, Danielle, Amy and Ciara for playing 6. Thanks to Ennis girls for a brilliant game, warm welcome and hospitalities afterwards. Next up Killarney /Iveragh /Listowel play the semifinals on the 16th March.
