U16s progress to the West Munster Cup final

Our U16 boys advanced to the West Munster Cup final with a resounding win over Killorglin at Aghadoe. Killarney opened the scoring early with a try from Bryan Walsh after a typically elusive run followed a dynamic break from Dylan O’Brien. Bryan soon repeated the dose as Killarney took a grip on the game and opened up a 10-0 lead. Killarney pushed out the lead to 17-0 with a try from Mark Kennelly following a huge kick from Bran Walsh and a great chase from Pierce Leslie pressurised the Killorglin defence. A pre-planned move from a scrum in the Killorglin 22, saw Gearóid O’Connor score to leave to out lead to 22-0.

A fifth try followed from Dylan O’Brien who finished off a great run after we disrupted a Killorglin line out.

In the 2nd half, the backs took over with a hat trick from Jack Donoghue. Killorglin to their credit refused to lie down a prolonged period of goal-lin pressure led to a close range score.

Final is next Saturday 22nd April in Tralee vs Rugbaí Chorca Dhuibhne – kick off 4.15pm
